A 75-year-old Racine woman was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident.

According to police, the woman was crossing the street at an intersection when the driver of a pickup truck struck her. The 51-year-old driver of the truck stated that there was no way to avoid the accident.

Police have determined that the woman may have been walking against the red light when she was struck. The woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Wheaton Fransican-All Saints Hospital. The accident is currently under investigation at this time and police still investigating.
