Minneapolis Drunk Driver Sentenced 9 Years in DUI Fatality

A Minneapolis woman charged with killing a man in a multi-car accident caused by her drunk driving has been sentenced to 9 years in prison. The accident took place in Brooklyn Center, on 66th Street and Highway 252.

The 32-year-old woman had a blood-alcohol content of almost .36, four-and-a-half times the legal limit. A 37-year-old man died in the accident, when the vehicle he was driving caught flames, trapping him inside. Witnesses at the scene tried to help, but were unable to save the man, who died on the scene.

The woman has two prior DUI convictions, one in Minnesota and one in Wisconsin.
