A suspected drunk driver hit three Amish buggies

A woman who is accused of drunk driving, hit three occupied Amish buggies before fleeing the scene in Jackson County.

The accident happened in the town of Northfield, when the woman was driving on Highway G and struck the three buggies from behind. Four passengers, all male between the ages of 17 and 19, were injured in the accident. One teen was injured substantially and transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Two others were treated for non-life threatening injuries and one was treated at the scene.The driver of the car was later found and arrested. This was her fourth offense of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
