DNR: Candlelight ski may be cancelled due to snow shortage

The snow shortage in southern and central Wisconsin has caused the possible cancellation of nearly 30 candlelight skiing events that were set to begin this weekend.

The Department of Natural Resources has stated that the amount of snow in these areas is not enough for skiing so the events may be changed to candlelight hiking, or if this is too dangerous, then it will be cancelled.

Northern areas of Wisconsin are not experiencing this lack of snow. Officials have stated that the people should call ahead before attending events. They were scheduled to take place in recreational areas, state parks and forests.
