Lawnmower driver arrested for OWI

A 69-year-old man was arrested after police found him driving his lawnmower on the road and pulled him over to discover that he was intoxicated.

According to police officials, the man was unaware that you could not drive lawnmower on the road and even motioned police to go around him when a patrol car put on its sirens and tried to pull the man over. The man then turned into the Walgreens parking lot and after having trouble stopping the vehicle, he finally came to a stop after hitting the curb.

The man was operating the vehicle with a suspended license from a prior drunk driving arrest. After a sobriety test was done, it was discovered that he was driving with a blood alcohol content that was twice the legal limit. He was charged with his fourth OWI in court on Tuesday.
