Man pleads guilty to DUI after confessing on YouTube

After uploading a short video clip on YouTube of his confession to accidentally killing a man in a car crash, Matthew Cordle pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide at a hearing on Wednesday, September 18. The 22-year-old resident of Powell, who accidentally killed Vincent Canzani in a car crash on the night of June 22, could face between 2 and 8 ½ years of imprisonment, a sentence that will be determined at a hearing set for October 10.

Canzani was fatally struck by Cordle in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 670 after Cordle went drinking with his friends. Cordle uploaded a 3 ½ minute video on YouTube to admit what had happened. The video went viral after it was viewed more than 1.9 million times.
