Toyota recalls hundred thousands of vehicles with potential airbag problem

Japanese automaker Toyota recently recalled hundred of thousands of vehicles in the U.S. due to a leaking A/C condenser problem that could affect the airbag system, a report released by Toyota stated on October 17.

The recall affects at least 803,000 recent models of the Camry, Avalon, Camry Hybrid, Avalon Hybrid, and Venza SUVs. The vehicles were discovered to potentially have a leaking A/C condenser that could cause the airbag system to malfunction. Toyota reported that if the water from the condenser reaches the airbag system, it may short circuit, causing the airbags to unnecessarily deploy or not at all.

Reports of the airbags in the recalled vehicles unexpectedly launching, causing a few injuries, have already reached Toyota. Dealers will address the issue by fixing the leak and installing a cover on the condenser to further prevent leaks from reaching the airbag control unit.

The legal team at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® believes that people in Milwaukee who sustain injuries as a result of defective vehicles should be owed compensation for the losses they are forced to endure. Call 800-242-2874 today to talk with us if this has happened to you.
