More than 3000 Land Rover SUVs in the US recalled

British vehicle manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover is voluntarily recalling almost 4,000 recent models of Range Rover SUVs in the U.S. due to a possible airbag malfunction, an article from NBC News stated on January 3.

According to the documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects 3,912 model year 2013-2014 Range Rovers. The airbag system of the involved SUVs may fail to deploy in the event of an accident if a connector suddenly becomes disconnected. The NHTSA said there were no injuries reported involving the recalled vehicles.

Starting January 17, dealers of the affected Range Rovers will fix the issue by improving the connector in the airbag system.

Vehicle occupants may suffer from serious, or even fatal, injuries if airbags fail to deploy in the event of a car crash.
