Toyota issue recalls of millions of vehicles worldwide

Automaker giant Toyota issued recalls on April 9 that affect 6.39 million vehicles worldwide, many of which are in the U.S., the Washington Post reported.

The recall affects older versions of the Toyota RAV4, Yaris, Tacoma, Corolla, Highlander and Matrix vehicles. At least 3.5 million vehicles reportedly have a spiral cable that can be damaged by turning the steering wheel and which could lead to an airbag malfunction. Toyota also identified an issue in the springs found in the seat rails of certain cars, while other issues in the steering column brackets, windshield wipers and starter motors affect the other recalled vehicle.

Toyota stated that they have not received any reports of injuries involving the affected vehicles.
